Microman Command Surveyor 2
Takara released Microman
Surveyor 2 in 1977 as the second vehicle in the Surveyor Series.
The Surveyors were design as Microman ground mobile base. Takara
released a total of three Surveyor vehicles - Surveyor 1, Surveyor 2 and
Surveyor 3. Surveyor 1 was the smallest of the three, while
Surveyor 2 was the mid-size and Surveyor 3 was the largest.
Surveyor vehicles utilized 5mm
core blocks as the basis for the vehicles. Each parts of Surveyor
vehicles were design to be interchangeable via the 5mm system. The
core block itself was also fully motorized and require batteries to operate.
Surveyor 2 appeared to be design
as mobile ground base vehicle. The front section consisted of cockpit
area while the rear contain three separate sections - computer chamber,
droid and missile launcher. The vehicle features beautiful green
canopy, and clear domes on each side of the cockpit.
While the other two Surveyors
basic design became Micronauts toys - Star Searcher (based on Surveyor 1)
and Star Defender (based on Surveyor 3), Surveyor 2 was never produced as
Micronauts vehicle.

Here is the rear section of
Surveyor 2. The back had the on/off switch for the motor and
missile unit mounted on elevate arm. The missile launcher had spring
loaded feature. The missile itself was the same design as the missile
that came with the Connig Station Base. The launcher had flat
panel with 5mm peg that can be rotate out and became gunner seat for
Microman figure.
