***** NEWS UPDATE 7/07 **** Again, Zira 28 (Yukiko) has kindly send more up to date news and scans of the upcoming Microman for the second half of 2007. Not much news really aside from what we already seen in the last few months. These scan came from both July and August issue of Quanto. July issue covered the upcoming W-Signa female figures while the August issue focused on the new EVA Girls figures. On a side note, on-line retailers are posting upcoming soliciting information for Microman Wingman series (Wingman was manga and anime series from 1980's) and also Microman Lupin. (Another manga and anime from the 80's). May be we will see Microman Cobra next? (See the soliciting catalog page below - 7/14/07) Kinnikuman Series Three new figures MK-10 Great Kinnikuman, MK-11 Pentagon, and MK-12 Mongolia coming in August. Meat-Kun is mail-away exclusive figure that can be purchase by sending in 1200 Yen (Ouch!) along with proof of purchases from three MK figures. EVA Girls Series Version 2 of Asuka and Rei in both the school uniforms and plug-suit also in August. (4 new retool figures) Also plan for special exclusive figure of Rei (battle damage version). Votoms Series Several new items for Votoms Series including exclusive figures. MAP03 Vanilla + Custom Parts for Scopedog. (Used with DMZ-01 & 03) DMZ-04 X-ATH-02DT Rabidly Dog (Chirico Ver.) This is repaint and retool version of Strike Dog. It comes with Chirico Cuvie figure that include two versions of the head designs along with new pilot helmet that can be put on the figure instead of swapping out the entire head. Takara-Tomy also plan two promotion figures - Aaron and Gran. This will be a mail-away exclusive. Wrecker Signa Project Series This series is being market as a pseudo new core Microman line. It's a tie in with live action TV series of the same name using Microman figures as inspiration design. Here is what is confirm for September. There will be two set A & B and retails for about 3700 Yen. (Way to milk more cash from fans) DVD + 2 (of the 4) female W-Signa figures. There is no word on the male figure and how it will be sold. Not a really exciting news but at least Takara-Tomy is determine to keep Microman line going for at least until the end of this year. I am not sure I am entirely please with the direction that Tomy is taking Microman line. Yukiko told me that there were several rumors about the tension between the two toy designing cultures (Tomy and Takara) and that lead to many of the problem with the projects. Tomy was hoping Takara would open up Transformers brand to Tomy division and Takara was hoping for Star Wars licensed so they can do Microman Version of Star Wars characters but they were un-able to resolve the turf wars and the end result is pretty much a very boring year for Microman line. There is really not much news about any other Microman projects aside from these four lines probably until Takara-Tomy resolve their internal tension the property is pretty much in a limbo state.
