This section is a guide to Special Edition, Limited Edition and Collector's Edition (in the case of Halo3, there is also a Legendary Edition) games that are available for Microsoft Xbox 360 console. These special versions included the usual "making of" DVD, background materials, artworks and often times cool little goodies like figurine, cloth maps or little trinket. The idea of special editions is not new and can be trace directly back to PC games. In the early days of PC, many games would come with extra goodies inside the box, over time as cost of game producing a game increase these extras were removed. Some publisher began including them as incentive to pre-order the game and eventually separate editions of the games with higher prices were produced and sold along side the vanilla versions.
